As a young person, we are constantly faced with choices that require us to make a decisions. Sometimes the outcome is good but there are times when the outcome doesn't go according to plan.

At AFC, we'll be starting on a book called Choices and we'll be discussing hot topics that concern the generation of today.

Tomorrow's a public holiday so it's hello to the long weekend! WOOT! Another week and then it's the school holidays for some. YAY!

We'll be meeting as usual tomorrow to de-stress from mid terms so get ready to boogie!

Tomorrow will also be a sad day for us as one of our friends will be leaving us to start a new chapter in his life. Benson will be leaving us to further his studies in Kampar.

Benson, you have been faithful in this ministry and we thank you for being around. We will miss you but we'll see you soon. We wish you all the best at your new place in Kampar and may you continue to be His light to new friends around you.

Lead Me To The Cross

We will be celebrating Palm Sunday this coming Sunday, a celebration of commemoration of Jesus' triumphant entry into Jerusalem. In celebration of this day, let us also remember that soon after Jesus was welcomed, He was led to the cross to die for us.

So as we spend the coming week in reflection of Christ's sufferings, let us be reminded of His great love for us. We were and are not worthy, but He did it anyway.

We wanna thank St. Andrew's, KT for having us over and for the wonderful hospitality that we experienced. We also wanna thank the new friends that we met for the fun that we had. To the campers of KT Mini Bootcamp 2010, camp would not have been the same without you!

December was crazy with activity for us. We had our annual Bootcamp from 6 - 14 Dec and then an additional weekend of outreach on 18 - 20 Dec.

Crazy mad rush for everyone but we enjoyed it to the max. The pics speak for themselves :)

Thank you for being there to support us in any way possible. Be it prayer, food, money or just being at our presentations, we are grateful and we thank God for you....yes, YOU!

To our campers: camp would not have been the same without you. We are glad to have met you and bonded with you and we look forward to seeing you again in the next bootcamp of 2010.

AFC Mini Bootcamp at Christ Church, Penang

All For Chirst (AFC) together with Christ Church, jointly organized a mini bootcamp from the 29 – 31 August 2009. 14 AFC members gathered at St. Paul’s Church PJ and left for Penang by bus at 10:00pm on 28 August 2009. We arrived at Christ Church Penang at 4am.

The objective of the mini bootcamp was primarily to assist Christ Church in encouraging and reaching out to new/non Christian youths from their Chinese speaking congregation. Besides that, it was an effort to promote the AFC Bootcamp in December. The mini bootcamp officially started on 29th August 2009 with a total of 37 campers from Christ Church, Penang. We began the camp with an ice-breaking session where the campers, and the AFC team, got to know one another.

AFC led the dance training sessions. There were 4 items taught; namely Think About His Love (corporate sign language song), Shackles (dance), Hallelujah Praise (dance), and Hands (skit). Because of the very limited time, the AFC trainers put in a lot of effort to train the campers while the campers did their best to learn the dance steps. A presentation of the dances was held on the night of 30th August 2009 with parents and church members being the audience. The core team of AFC also presented half of an AFC Master Remix, as a preview of a dance item that would be taught during the upcoming AFC Bootcamp 2009.

During both the English and Chinese Sunday service, AFC had a slot where we introduced ourselves, presented a sign language item (Our Hearts), a short skit (The Lord’s Prayer, translated for Chinese service) and played a short video of what AFC has been doing during our past year-end outreaches to old folks’ home and shopping malls. During the night session on 29th August, Daniel Chai spoke (translated by Evonne Siew) about our identity as children of God, what God has done for us through Jesus Christ, what our response should be and how we are to follow Him. This was linked to the sharing of God’s love and serving Him through performing arts. The night session ended with a time of ministry. Morning devotion sessions were led by Christ Church youth leaders.

Feedback from Christ Church has been encouraging. The mini bootcamp made an impact on the youths of the Church. They are excited and encouraged to use their dance and acting in service to the Lord. Also, a group of older youths considered making a come back.

We are thankful to Christ Church Penang for their wonderful hospitality, and also to all who were involved in this outreach, including the parents and older ones who came along and helped with everything. Special thanks to Evonne Siew who did all the translation work despite the short notice.

We want to thank God for the opportunity to carry out His work and to do whatever we can for Him. We also want to thank Him for the enthusiastic campers that came for the 3-days camp held during the Merdeka weekend. We had a good time of fellowship with the campers and also tightened the bond between the AFC members. Last but not least, we want to thank God for His grace and mercy that we, as His servants, were able to have this opportunity to show others His greatness and love.

Project Christmas 2008!!

First off, many apologies for not updating this blog, especially about what's happening. We've been busy. ANYway, Christmas is coming(!!) and look what's up!

It's the one and only Project Christmas 2008!! *cheers* It's going to be something different from what we've been having for the past years, so come join us!

Two enthusiastic groups from a college and a university will be joining us for presentation at various places which includes malls, homes and hospitals. Presentation will be on the ~~first two~~ second and third weekends in December, so make sure you make those dates free; presenting or not, just come! :)

Practice for Project Christmas officially started yesterday (14th November 2008). AFC members would be aware of it if you guys checked your mail! :)

Anybody can join this. Yeahp. Anybody.

Practices will be on every Friday from now on, unless if we cancel it. We will definitely notify you guys if it's canceled. Or else you can give us a call or email to confirm anything! Please bring your 'survival kit' and please wear proper attire i.e. sports shoes and sports attire.

The Donkey

One day a farmer's donkey fell down into a well. The animal cried piteously for hours as the farmer tried to figure out what to do. Finally, he decided the animal was old, and the well needed to be covered up anyway; it just wasn't worth it to retrieve the donkey.

He invited all his neighbors to come over and help him. They all grabbed a shovel and began to shovel dirt into the well.. At first, the donkey realized what was happening and cried horribly..

Then, to everyone's amazement he quieted down.

A few shovel loads later, the farmer finally looked down the well. He was astonished at what he saw.. With each shovel of dirt that hit his back, the donkey was doing something amazing. He would shake it off and take a step up.

As the farmer's neighbors continued to shovel dirt on top of the animal, he would shake it off and take a step up. Pretty soon, everyone was amazed as the donkey stepped up over the edge of the well and happily trotted off!

MORAL : Life is going to shovel dirt on you, all kinds of dirt. The trick to getting out of the well is to shake it off and take a step up. Each of our troubles is a steppingstone. We can get out of the deepest wells just by not stopping, never giving up! Shake it off and take a step up. Remember these five simple rules:

1. Free your heart from hatred - Forgive.
2. Free your mind from worries - Most never happens.
3. Live simply and appreciate what you have.
4. Give more.
5. Expect less from people but more from God.

AFC at Charisma Assembly

As most of you should know, AFC went to Charisma Assembly, Segamat 2 weeks ago and conducted a mini bootcamp for the youths there from 30th August to 1st September. Yeah, we spent Merdeka there! :p

So that few days there was pretty eventful. On our devotions. we highlighted these 3 parts: Who we were - Dead in Sin on Day 1, Who we are - Alive in Christ on Day 2, and finally, What we do - Created for good on Day 3. And having devotions in small groups was really a plus, I must say. ;)

Other than that, we also had dance. Just 2 days of dance training and the campers are off to dance for the Lord! We had 2 presentations on Sunday (morning service and a night event), and the campers really did a good job with their dances and skits.

Camp, of course, will not be completed without making new friends and the fair share of fun that we all had! :)

A big thank you to Charisma Assembly for having AFC over! And also for those who took the responsibility of making this camp a success. Thank you!

And one more thing. For those of you who went and brought your cameras, do feel free to upload pictures at our Facebook group so everyone else can see them. :)

Kajang Anglican Church Camp!!

Hey people,

As you guys know, AFC had an outreach at the Kajang Anglican Church from the 26-28th of May. That church had organized a dance camp and had invited us over to conduct the dance training sessions.

A group of about 5 to 6 of us went there on the 26th and the 27th to teach them 4 dances in 2 sessions each day. On the 28th, there was a rehearsal in the morning and at night, a presentation night where the campers had their parents to come and also others. On the presentation night, the campers presented the 4 songs they learnt and AFC presented 2 songs, along with an evangelistic sermon by one of their pastors. It was an evangelistic event.

During the dance sessions, we had the opportunity to share Christ with the campers when we explained the meaning of the songs they were learning. The song "We are the reason" that we presented was also meaningful and appropriate as it was presented at the end of the sermon (which was an evangelistic one) on the presentation night. We had a good time of fun and fellowship among ourselves and also with the campers.

The dance trainers had put in a lot of effort to train the campers in a very short time. Also, the dancers from AFC presented well. We want to thank all who were involved in this outreach, including the ones who helped out and provided transport.

Hello guys!
Hope you had a great week and enjoyed the fun and games we had last week.
Sorry, no pictures this week too, the blogmistress has too many assignments on her hands.

There is AFC Meet this week, and continuing with the ARMOR of GOD series, we'll be putting on the helmet of SALVATION this week.

Also we'll be practicing for the upcoming Kajang Anglican Church Dance Camp which is from the 26-29 May. You guys in school would be having holidays, come join us there. Some of us will be running dance training there, so come support us!

Last Sunday, we were in River of Life Sanctuary, Puchong!
Here's a picture view of what we were up to over there...

They had food... YAY! We love food.
Anyway, we had a good time there, as it was our first outreach of the year. After months of preparation, we did pretty well, praise the Lord! Pat on the back for all of you who participated, even the non-dancers, you guys were great!

Prayer Wall

Now the body is not made up of one part but of many.... there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other. If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it. [1 Corinthians 12:12-26]

Hey guys!

We've been very busy around here, what about you guys?
I know it's exam season, but do try and make it for our outreaches.

So far, in our ARMOR of GOD series, we've covered the BELT of TRUTH, the BREASTPLATE of RIGHTEOUSNESS and our FEET FITTED with the READINESS that comes from the GOSPEL of PEACE.

Take a wild guess what we're gonna be doing this week.
[Even better, flip open your bibles to Ephesians 6 to check it out =) ]

Anyway, we'll also be checking out these three (plus plus a few more) guys cos they're hot (for the Lord)!

The ARMOR of GOD

Starting things off, we had some of Father Abraham's children come up and perform for us...
Then we had some "stand up" comedy...
Haha, a time of praise and worship, we sang the theme song for the day "Stand up, stand up for Jesus"...
Then, we feasted...
So we learnt how not to be "chickens" and putting on the ARMOR of GOD so that we can stand against the devil's eeevil plans.

This meet is actually the introduction to a series called "The ARMOR of GOD" that we'll be running every week with our usual creative arts practices. So come join us for the next meet [Friday 11.04.2008] as we discover more to protecting ourselves from harm!

Remember to bring your Survival Kit [Bible, stationery and notebook] with you every week yeah!

Blessed Easter

Young Philip never felt like he belonged. He was pleasant enough but he looked a bit different and seemed unusual to his eight-year-old classmates.

In Sunday school class several weeks before Easter, Phillip’s teacher introduced a special project. She gave every child a plastic "egg" - the kind pantyhose used to come in. She explained that each child was to go outside, find a symbol for new life and put it into the egg. Enthusiastically, the children responded. They raced outside and started gathering things. Back in the classroom the eggs were opened one at a time with each child explaining the meaning of his symbol.

The first egg had a pretty flower; the next a beautiful butterfly. Green grass was in a third. The children "oohed" and "aahed". Finally the last egg was opened - there was nothing in it.

“That’s stupid,” exclaimed one child. Another grumbled, “Someone didn’t do it right!”

The teacher felt a tug on her shirt. It was Phillip, who said, “That’s mine, and I did do right! It’s empty, ’cause the tomb was empty.”

There was an unusual, thoughtful silence. And strangely, from that time on, Phillip was accepted as part of the group. Phillip continued to struggle with many physical problems. That summer he picked up an infection which most children would easily have shaken off. But Philip’s weak body couldn’t and a few weeks later, he died.

At his funeral nine eight-year-olds with their teacher brought their symbol of remembrance and placed it near his coffin. Their unusual gift of love to Phillip wasn’t flowers. It was an empty egg - now a symbol to them of new life and hope. Little Philip reminds us of new life. New life we celebrate here together, on the most important day in our church year. Yes, it’s important Jesus was born at Christmas. But it is critical to know Christ rose from the dead. Revealing to us the empty tomb, gaining victory over death.

We cannot find Christ, the ultimate symbol of new life, anywhere. We cannot hold him, we cannot put him in a convenient little box… or egg. Why? Because we have an empty tomb. Christ rose again and is walking among us in the hearts of those who follow him.

An introduction to All For Christ : ABOUT US

All For Christ is a young people's creative evangelism team from St. Paul's Church in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. All For Christ consists of Christian youths, from different denominations, with ages from 10 all the way to over 30!! We are young people (or at least young at heart!!) who know Jesus Christ and want to make Him known. We want to share His Love and Peace, for His Salvation belongs to everyone.

The group was formed in July 1996 and initially consisted of 12 members. Since then, the numbers have increased and today, there are about 40 of us, with most of us being in our teens.

We meet regularly on Fridays, 8PM. We usually begin with a time of prayer and devotion, followed by practice sessions. Occasionally, we end with some games and recreation.

We had a successful debut presentation on Dec 13, 1996 at St. Paul's Church, Petaling Jaya after months of preparation and practice. Since then we have been going out actively to proclaim His Name through our testimonies, dances, skits, mimes, songs and messages.

Our first outreach mission trip was to Christ Church, Malacca in 1997. We usually have a few mission trips every year, visiting various churches and organisations and holding our presentations there.

Aside from outreach mission trips, we have been organising annual Boot Camps since 1998. During the camp, young people from various churches and organisations are invited to join us for a time of fellowship, spiritual teachings, ministry and training sessions. During the training sessions, participants are taught new songs and dances.

	Towards the end of the Boot Camps, there will be outreach mission trips & presentations at places such as shopping malls, churches, hospitals and welfare homes. There, presentations that we do at these locations are open to the public.
We also work hand-in-hand with groups within the various churces via jointly-organised activities. Where possible, we also provide help and support for their own activities or projects.
